Tabata von der Locht (born 1996 in Munich) lives and works in Munich. From 2016 to 2025, she studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich (AdBK), initially in the sculpture class of Hermann Pitz and later in the painting class of Schirin Kretschmann, where she became a master student. Prior to that, she completed a vocational training and master school in wood sculpture in Munich.
Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including at Galerie Burster (Berlin), Augsburger Kunstverein, Galerie Judith Andreae (Bonn), the PEAC Collection, the BMW Foundation, and the Lindau Biennale. In 2025, she is represented at Kunstverein Ingolstadt and the diploma exhibition of the Academy of Fine Arts Munich.
She has received several awards and grants, including the Debutante Sponsorship 2025, a scholarship from the Bernhard Borst Foundation (2022), the Danner Art Award (2018), as well as nominations for the Karl & Faber Prize and the Academie Positions Berlin (both 2022). With her project *“Between the Lines of the City”*, she won the NEUE WELTEN grand prize of the Rotary Club Munich-Bogenhausen.
