Levan Svanishvili (born 1987 in Tbilisi, Georgia) lives and works in Düsseldorf and Tbilisi. He studied Fine Arts at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Koenraad Dedobbeleer (Akademiebrief) and earned a Master of Arts degree from Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. Prior to that, he completed both a Bachelor's and Master's degree at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, as well as artistic training at the Iakob Nikoladze Art College in Tbilisi.
His work has been presented in a wide range of solo and group exhibitions, including at the Städtische Galerie Lüdenscheid (Ida Gerhardi Förderpreis 2025), Kunstpalast Düsseldorf (“Die Große”, 2022), Stadtmuseum Langenfeld, BBK Düsseldorf (“Fresh Positions”, 2023) and at the Embassy of Georgia in Berlin (“Sashvi”, 2019).
He has received several awards and grants for his artistic work, including the Travel Grant from the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen (2023), the Art and Culture Grant from Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf (2023), the von Rundstedt Art Award (2017), and was appointed master student by Prof. Herbert Brandl (2017).
